The Boat

We found Dulcinea on yachtworld.com some time back in 2010 and after trawling through hundreds of pages of boats for sale both here in New Zealand, USA and Europe I kept coming back to her. I loved the layout and the huge space it offered for the length.
She was designed by Gary Mull and built by Jachtwerf Vennekens boatyard in Belgium back in 1982. From research we did we managed to find out that she was even a charter boat back in the early 90's based in Sarasota, Florida.
Since buying her back in early 2011 we have spent plenty of boat dollars on her but getting to the point where we have replaced all of the old failing items, brought her into the 21st century with electronics and up to date safety gear. Now just working towards getting category 1 so we are able to look at heading for somewhere more tropical with crystal clear waters and palm trees.

Below is an in depth detailing of Dulcinea and photos from inside so you get an idea of the layout. She has three cabins and can comfortably sleep 6 (with another couple in the saloon if needed). There are two heads and a large rear storage area where we keep the gas bottles, dive compressor, dive tanks, fishing and dive gear plus all sorts of other bits and pieces.
The forward 'V' berth (our berth), roomy and plenty of light with its own bathroom (head).
Looking aft from the mast, the large double berth is in the room through the left door
and the bunk room (named 'the garage') through the right door. The rear head is the
far left door beside the double room.
Galley sink in the foreground, chart table with fridge/freezer below and some new
custom made drawers and first aid kit beside that. She is a roomy boat in here and
plenty of room to relax and watch some tv on those miserable days.
Nav station/chart table. Secondary old chart plotter, switchboard, VHF, charging displays
and so forth. Never actually spread a chart out on this table but its handy for looking
through books and usually ends up being an extension of the galley bench.
The rear double room, also known as Roe's room as he occupied this
space for 3 months when we lived aboard in the USA.
