Sailrite

So its time for some big news, we finally splashed out and did it right! After looking through trademe for weeks on end, visiting countless sewing shops and ringing around a heap of shops. We decided everyone seemed to be rather useless, we got told that a domestic machine with a heavy needle should be ok to sew sails countless times. The only place that was slightly helpful and seemed to understand our needs and had a good machine that happily sewed several layers of heavy fabric and they had sold to sailmakers in the past. The downside though was it had more electronics than most modern cars and cost an absolute fortune and given that salt air and electronics don't mix we gave that a wide berth.

The package we ended up getting, may as well get all the bells and whistles...
We kept coming back to the Sailrite over and over, it seemed the best thing for doing everything from sails, canvas work and even is happy to do light work. We looked at all the packages available and ended up settling on the premium package as it comes with everything you need and it seemed that when you buy the cheaper one and add in the extra bits it costs you more so no brainer really! We ordered a couple of days ago and shipping is estimated at 10-14 working days for something that weighs 25 odd kilos. Looking forward to this beauty turning up....stay tuned for some cool things on the cards to be made.
