So after waking up in the middle of the night in the week hearing the wind howling around the house I was wondering the the poor boat was holding up. But after looking at the news and the MetService website I could find nothing about gale force winds hitting Lyttelton and the MetService only recorded wind speeds of low 60km/h so I wasn't too bothered. However upon going to the boat today I got a hell of a shock when I look at the tri-data max recorded wind speed which clocked in at 79.7kn (148km/h) which sure beats the high 30kn recorded in Bradenton when we had the big storm come through.
