Enroute to our destination, Rodriguez Key we anchored off a reef a few miles off shore and had a rather long swim to the reef but worth it as the marine life got better and better every meter we got closer. The fish were amazing and colourful, lobsters that were so big you could strap a saddle on and ride them and then finally the icing on the cake we found what we were looking for “Christ of the Abyss”(a large bronze statue of Jesus with arms wide open sitting in 25ft of crystal clear water). It was spectacular and worth the long swim, we looked around the area a bit further before heading back to the boat. On the way back to the boat you have never seen people swim so fast! We all spotted a rather large shark swimming off below us, all panicked a little and high tailed it back to the boat with the old glance around to see if we were being followed, the rest of the evening was spend with the usual evening chores of dinner, washing up and playing UNO until our eyes were falling out our head.
