Busy Busy Busy

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, its been full on since we moved into the boat. The thing was absolutely filthy and we have been spending every waking minute throwing out all the old junk that came onboard, cleaning every nook and cranny and installing new equipment (no wonder the radio didn't work, the power wasn't connected! its ok we have a new one now). Today we cleaned the bathrooms, saloon, cockpit locker. We also found that the existing owner never bothered to put the mainsail up and clearly put it in the 'too hard' basket which pissed me off....and we found out why today, the halyard bearings for the in mast furler are seized and the mainsail will not roll up and its going to be a real pig to fix so going to see what sort of price for a professional rigger to fix it up good and new (photos of me 70ft in the air at the top of the mast). This evening we had pizza because we were exhausted and could not be bothered cooking, also fixed the jib as it would not furl all the way up and finally tidied the deck up so we are not falling over ropes. Looking forward to getting out of here on tuesday all going well, sick of working in the boat and not sailing.

Why didn't the surveyor pickup the seized bearing?

because the mainsail was not on when the survey was done as its been in storage for a long time. Only when we came to install the main we found it, not really a major problem, just annoying and takes time to fix.
