Today was an amazing morning, nice and warm and the day was shaping up to be a scorcher. We started by replacing some of the ropes on the boat that were well past their working date, the topping lift got replaced, the halyard was swapped out for one we had already, the mainsheet rope replaced, boom vang rope replaced, outhaul replaced and we bought a new sheet for the Genoa but that might be destined for the storm gib. Emma had her first go, well two goes to be accurate of splicing 3-strand laid rope to make me a couple of anchor snubbers. And credit to her as they turned out pretty good and considering the book was not very good I think it’s a fine effort. I spent some time cleaning along the toe rain on the port side and then sealed all the way along the toe rail/deck joint with silicone to try stop/slow the leaks which have become rather annoying when it rains or we get water over the deck while underway. Not a lot else to report really except the fact it was a very hot sunny day and I got a bit burned, whoops!
