Well its another HORRIBLE day here in Wellington, the wind is howling at a good 20kn, the boat is rocking around in her slip and its cold. I had a sleep in today and didn’t bother arising until 10am. Had a quick inspection of the few new leaks that reared their ugly head and did the dishes from last night while Emma showered. Had some scrambled eggs on toast to warm up before catching up on some blog post writing. We headed out to meet a local friend for lunch at Buddha Stix but realized they were actually closed so headed to the Speights Ale House instead. It was nice to be somewhere warm, dry and not rocking (I shouldn’t complain, the boats pretty damn good really), but yeah had the tastiest pork belly on kumera mash which filled the spot nicely, we talked for a couple of hours and went our separate ways. The drive home to the boat is only short from Petone but it was interesting looking out into Wellington harbor, there is a huge container ship docked or moored up right outside the marina which I never noticed (must be due to the terrible weather) and the sea is lumpy and turned a horrible brown colour. Looking at the weather maps of the area I was glad to be in here as its blowing 50 knots out in Cook Strait. So yeah back to the boat, have a cup of tea and look at taking out the second holding tank, I got as far as looking before having an afternoon doze on the couch, looked at the tank again and once again found something else to distract me from the horrible job of removing it….maybe tomorrows job.
