Off We Go

After a day of frantic cleaning and packing we finally set off for the airport, boarded out Jetstar flight which was over in no time. We did get a lovely look at the Cook Strait below and wished we were sailing home then, lovely breeze and pretty calm seas. But we weren’t, we disembarked the plane and laughed at the trashy girl beside us who had a cigarette in her mouth before she even got out of her seat, smokers! Strange breed! Anyhow we got out bags and found our rental car and headed for Petone for some tea, we settled on Tulsi (Indian food). Which although cost a small fortune with the public holiday surcharge was amazing and just what we felt like. Next step was to get a few basic things for breakfast in the morning which turned out to be annoying as everything shut so early on a public holiday. Anyhow we finally made our way to the boat, opened up and was hit by that unmistakable smell of old holding tank (not too strong but just unpleasant). We did a couple of loads of washing to make sure all our sheets and bedding was clean, had a tidy up and went to bed.
