Running around town

Today we had one thing we really wanted to get done, get those sails in! the wind was reasonably light but from behind us which is not great for trying to get sails up as the boat tries to well….sail and that’s not the best when tied up at a marina. We waited for a quieter patch with about 7kn of wind and got the mainsail up without much drama then got it furled away and tied into the new outhaul. The wind was picking up a bit by this stage and we thought it best not to try the genoa which is about twice the size of the mainsail and I really don’t feel like testing the strength of the mooring lines/deck cleats and dock cleats. We headed into Wellington to get a stepdown transformer for the TV/DVD player (to go from 240V to 115V), then go look at a marine shop which turned out to be crap anyway so I think we will just stick with Burnsco, while we were in town both decided we could do with Burger Fuel. Next we went looking around Petone and Lower Hutt for a while before returning to the yacht to get a few more things done. I started to replace the American power outlets with nice new NZ plug sockets before getting bored and distracted by something probably less important.
