Clean Up Take 2
So the yacht has been sitting in Wellington for a month now, and we had a good opportunity to go up and get things off it that we wanted. Roeloff was driving up north to see his sister so was going to stop in and get some things off the boat for himself, so we flew up on Saturday, hired a car and drove to the marina. The first night aboard was interesting as the holding tank under our bed is full and stinks! so we ended up turning 180 and sleeping with our heads at the tiny end of the bed. Sunday was into the cleaning stage again, rummaging through so much food picking out what we wanted to take home, what we should take home as it was about to expire and what we can leave aboard for christmas time. We boxed everything up and loaded it into Roe's car when he arrived a little after lunch time. Some golden arches for lunch, then it was back to work. This time it was up the mast a few times to extract the jammed mainsail from the mast so it can be taken to the sailmakers for repairs (and a couple of hours later it was finally free and down below). Soon enough it was time to drop our rental back to the airport, head out for dinner and watch what turned out to be the most nail biting game of rugby to watch the All Blacks claim victory over the French side and claim the title of Rugby World Cup champions 2011 YAY!!!! time to head back to the boat and get some sleep as its a 5:45am rising tomorrow for the early ferry sailing.
