Another cracker!

Well today there was no strange waking up at 6 something in the morning but I did wake up before the alarm again and looked up through the big hatch above and could see what looked like grey overcast weather which dampened the mood a bit and I rolled back over, tucked my head in the hood of my sleeping bag and went back to sleep for a bit, then the alarm went off. I again put off getting up and ended up reading the news, 'Take Two's" blog and then hauled myself up. Today I started with bacon and eggs as well and it felt great. I popped my head up top and found out it was actually just fog again and could already see blue sky breaking through so was a lot happier. Within an hour we were into another stunning day with no wind, the fog had gone and the sun was drying off the dew on deck. We decided since the weather was so good we would try get more of the deck done and I masked again while Dad followed with the roller only to discover we were soon out of pain and put a hold on that job. Another coat of varnish on the companionway area which dad soon managed to put his painty hands on and a dirty white mark through the beautiful varnish. We then began taking bits of the boat apart to take home with me for further work, together we removed the autopilot bracket and steering arm to get galv dipped, took off the outboard bracket and it was amazing the thing hadnt fallen off! it was rooted! the cockpit table, mainsheet 4:1 block, large floor grill from cockpit, most of the squabs from below, bow roller and probably a few bits in between. Looking at or collection piling up on the dock I wondered if we were ever going to fit it all in the car but sure enough we crammed it all in there. As there wasn't much point starting another big job we pottered, cleaned and packed and were on the road at a reasonable 3:30ish and after a quick drive around the marina area we made our way to Blenheim to get a very late lunch. Also a quick stop for fuel and some more fuses as the heater decided to stop working and it was going to be a cold ride home without that.
