Well for a weekend it wasn't much of a sleep in, I woke at the time my alarm normally goes off (6:50am), realized it was not really that light yet and went back to sleep to get woken up by the alarm I did set at 8am. We were both soon up and dad was cooking a feed of bacon and eggs while I could only stomach muesli today. Then it was into it, dad began with pulling the old warped plastic outlet for the gas water heater off and proceeded to install the new stainless steel one. I on the other hand had the multi-tool out with the sander on it and was sanding what was left of the old varnish off from around the companionway ready to be re-varnished, as soon as dad finished his project he took over and I went onto masking the deck ready to roll on more non slip deck tred. As soon as it was masked I got stuck into it and managed to get the front half of the boat (right back to the spreaders) done and even went over some damaged and thin patches on the parts I completed 9 months ago. By this stage it was cooling off and we finished up painting and pulled out the scotch pads and autosol and polished all the stainless fittings we could get to (all stanchions, ladder, pullpit etc) and she is already looking like a better boat. It was then time to retire for some tea (and a pretty good butter chicken thanks Dad), before a nice hot shower, clean clothes and several more Top Gear challenges. Then off to bed for some well deserved rest.
