Mahia Peninsula to Castle Point

(Cont from below) - So after hours of making no progress we decided to start the motor and point in the direction we actually wanted to go. We motored right through the night and then the next day the winds dropped right off and we were forced to keep on motoring, we watched the fuel gauge drop from 3/4 tank to half then slightly under that and thought we should have totally topped the tank up in Gisborne (bit bloody late now). The rest of the day was pretty uneventful really and we just relaxed, getting some rest and waiting for the night ahead.
