Gisborne to Mahia Peninsula
Well it was a pretty still morining after yesterdays 40kn blow, but I could feel the wind building as the morning went on so we called the marina manager and sorted out key return and payment. Not long after we were on our way and started out great until the wind started to turn around to a SW and picked up to a good 25kn, the waves built to a good 2-3m and progress became very very slow and difficult trying to get around Mahia peninsula. We were tacking and tacking back and making no real ground around the peninsula...this went on and on until the wee hours of the moring (remainder to follow on next blog)
