Not a lot to report really, it was a horrible night with choppy rolling seas and due to some engine trouble I had to be down below to fix I came up feeling very strange, my hands tingled and my tongue felt numb like I had licked anesthetic and before long I had my head in Emma’s bucking have what I can only explain as a very painfull chuck! So I was feeling pretty bloody miserable for the rest of the night . To elaborate further on engine problems, the engine was getting starved of diesel again and I managed to fix it this time, the fuel priming bulb kept collapsing so I removed the inlet to it, let out some air and reconnected, reprimed and it wasn’t a problem again. Also had an issue with oil pressure, the alarm went on and I found the mysterious oil leak that plagued Dad and myself, the oil filter cartridge had a hairline crack in it and was spraying oil everywhere so after replacement cartridge and refill of oil it was sweet as. Next issue was overheating problem, this was due to a hose on the closed loop cooling/heat exchanger system, the reinforced hose split and blew all the water/steam out into the rear locker so off with the engine again, bob around in the sea while crammed into the back locker, then downstairs to fill the cooling system back up and by this time I was feeling pretty sick again but managed to hold off another chuck. Back on with the engine and on our way again…oh and there was some sailing actually done in there today for several hours. Not sure what times we were sailing as I was so tired and the days sort of blurred together. Feeling slightly better by the end of the day I managed to get a pack of bagel chips and a muesli bar down but hardly a good meal, how I am craving the steak that’s below in the fridge.
