We came back into reception and yet again I got calls about Koda getting out of his run! Groan! So I set about calling people and finding out what had happened. Turns out Koda slipped his collar in his run and dug out again! Dog control worked out where home was and our lovely neighbour Cath confirmed he lived here and kept an eye on him for the day. Koda is now camping out at Karens place until we get back as Amy is on 12 hour shifts and we think its just a little too long for Koda to keep himself contained now he knows how to get out. He better not carry on with this nonsense when we return.
We arrived at a little bay just before Kauauroa called Tawhitinui Bay and decided to anchor and go for a dive round the rocks. We successfully anchored in about 60 feet and set about filling the tanks and setting up our gear.
Not too long after we jumped in and swam over the rocks and sunk down for a short dive. Not too much to see really, lots of rocks, some blue cod and one carpet shark. Owen went after the shark and gave him a pat. My new dive computer lost its connection with my tank again (every dive so far!) luckily we were sitting at 5m on a safety stop and I knew I had plenty of air before it lost itself so wasn’t too worried. We sat and watched a couple of cheeky fish darting around and watching us before ascending.
We motored round the corner to Kauauroa Bay and pulled the mooring up. Bruce plopped the line in to try some fishing and Owen and I went to shore to fill the water containers at a creek. Couple of loads later Dulcinea was topped up. Bruce was busy chasing a shoal of fish that kept boiling up he managed to hook one but it got off (shame it was a BIG Kahawai) after that all he managed to catch was a wee curious squid that got tangled in the line and managed to ink all over the deck!
All and all another nice day aboard Dulcinea, all that’s left to do is play some Rummikub, eat some food and watch a movie!
