Double Bay to Havelock

Well after last nights dramas of getting up to check we were not sitting in the rocks I was a bit tired and not liking the position we were in the morning (looked even closer to shore) so we motored forward a bit and shortened the anchor chain a bit. Had another great cooked breakfast of french toast with bacon, banana and maple syrup, oh yeah! I think I am going to come back a lot heavier after this weekend haha! oh well you only live once. We fluffed around, did some fishing, then decided to head to Schnapper point across the sound and do some drift fishing to try get some of the elusive snapper we were gunning for but never got a thing. We had a wee look around Broughton Bay which looked lovely with its golden sand beaches and clear blue waters but I think we had all had enough and the wind was getting pretty cold by now so started steaming back toward the marina. We soon rounded Putanui Point and into the final stretch toward the marked channel but realized we were a bit early to catch the high tide so just around the point we dropped the hook, did some fishing and several more games of kinds and assholes to pass the time and before long we were lifting the anchor again and making the final miles through the marked channel to the marina entrance. I managed to have a pretty good dockage and with all the hands on board we were tied up in no time. We all went either running to the toilets or to the showers before cleaning the boat up, packing our stuff into the car and driving home. The southerly we could see coming over the hills when we came into the marina was pretty evident as we go further on, before long we had rain and low cloud but it cleared quite quickly and the rest of the trip was pretty uneventfull other than the stop for a well deserved feed at BK in Blenheim. Cheers to Dad, Zac and Rebecca for a damn good weekend! until next time all!
