Waitangi Weekend Day 3 - Ketu Bay to Tawhitinui Island
Another good sleep in today, I think I could get pretty used to this! although I woke up earlier and the sun was shining I went right back to sleep only to wake to a more overcast day. Another great cooked brekkie, quick clean up and then it was onwards. By this time the day was getting pretty miserable and the rain had set in and little to no wind so we put the bimini up and the new piece of canvas between the dodger and bimini and motored our way toward Tennyson Inlet to see what we could get in the way of club moorings. The day was pretty calm with light rain or drizzle so we all sat in the cockpit and chatted the miles away as we passed in behind Maud Island, the dilemma we face is which club mooring to go for, there are a few in the area but are all tucked away so well you basically need to get right into the bay to know if its free or not so we just headed for Elaine Bay but as we neared we could see a boat on the mooring, yes we can go raft up to them but I like my space so we opted to look at a little bay on the western side of Tawhitinui Island, it was beautiful, calm, secluded and wasn't way too deep so decided to drop the anchor and spend the night here. Since it was so miserable outside we spent the night down below watching a really really bad movie (how can I emphasise really!) it was Sharktopus, doesnt the name just say enough? so with that terrible one down we watched something else, and played games into the night.
